 Awareness Campaign:

The first period of the launching phase was the awareness campaign which was implemented by France Clusters before the installation of the PMU and under the dual patronage ofMoNE and FPCCIA. This activity helped supporting the prequalification of potential clusters.
The Awareness campaign will be implemented through two major phases:

Local information days:
  • Local Information days were held for 3 days in Ramallah, Nablus and Hebrongovernorates.
  • For one day in (Tulkarem, Qalqiliya, Salfit, South Hebron, North Hebron, Bethlehem, Jenin, Tubas, Jerusalem, and Jericho) governorates.
  • For two days in two localities in Gaza Strip (Gaza and Khan Younis).
  • All type of possible stakeholders in the area was targeted. But the information session will be organized in 3 categories of players to facilitate good interaction and understanding:
    • SMEs and BSO
    • Public institutions, academic, research and support institutions
    • Banks, BDS providers and private service centres
  • Additional Information days will be organized and held in Ramallah, Nablus and Bethlehem governorates to ensure access to the largest group of target sectors and regions and covering all geographic areas in collaboration with the Ministry of National Economy and the Union of Chambers of Commerce.

National dissemination workshops: with regional dimension: 2 workshops of 4 days each, one in West Bank, one in Gaza
These workshops will gather the best private and public players identified in the previous phase. It could also include some representative of neighbour countries to give a regional Middle East dimension to the event. France Clusters will insure the participation of some of its network members to present the French know how on the basis of case studies.
These will aim at:
  • Presenting the complete cluster methodology in a very pragmatic way, based on experiences and cases from Palestine, neighbour countries and France
  • Offering some coaching to the participants to help them elaborate the roadmap of their initiative toward the development of cluster in their own context.
The follow up of these two workshops will allow the awareness campaign team (France Cluster, MoNE and FPCCIA) to identify and screen (on the basis of objective criteria) which are the 12 to 15 best opportunities to promote clusters in the country.
On this basis the Executive Committee will evaluate and validate which are the 8 to 12 initiatives (and core groups) to be prequalified for call of proposals. Starting form this point, the Operational Unit shall take the relay to launch the call of proposals.
